In 1995, the citizens of Fort Worth voted to establish a Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD), and the District has been continued by voters in 2000, 2005, 2009, and 2014 for subsequent five-year periods, and in 2020 for a ten-year period. When our money is so tied up in crime reaction and control, we are not addressing the root causes of violence or investing in building safer communities. The Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) provides revenue from a ½-cent sales tax dedicated to funding programs aimed at reducing and preventing crime in Fort Worth.
